Meet the Author of How The Oceans Work

You may have noticed our beautifully illustrated bookshop windows, these were painted by Lucia, the very talented scientist and artist, who wrote How The Oceans Work, and How The Earth Works.

Come and join us and learn a bit more about her books, how she works, and join in with her illustration workshop. Lucia works on mapping the world back through time and has recently modelled the opening of the Atlantic Ocean, her work goes back a mere billion years!! She wants to share some of her knowledge and talent with us all. 

This workshop is suitable for ages 7+

3pm on Sunday 6th September 2026

Places are limited so sign up asap. 

The cost of the event is £5. You can include a copy of How the Oceans Work or How the Earth Works whilst booking, at the special price of £11.99 (normal price £16.99). Extra copies of either book can be ordered for the event, and with a 10% discount the price will be £15.29 each. Please email orders@cotswoldbookroom.live or pop into the bookshop. 

Lucia will sign and dedicated your copies on the day.
